Nathan, Matthew and I made candy cane cookies today. While the majority of them were traditional candy cane shapes, there were still a number of unique, nontraditional shapes. When the kids were younger, we usually had more oddball shapes than actual candy canes. I don’t have photographic proof, which seems weird to me now, but it makes sense when you consider the fact that none of us was walking around with a fancy camera in our pockets all the time like we do now and sometimes hauling out the big camera took more time than the kids had focus. So, you will have to take my word for it. Trust me that the cookies were always creative. Perfectly shaped or not, they were always delicious, and today’s cookies were also a perfect match in the taste category. Yum!
