I’ve made a decision. We’ve been giving our kids these fabulous experience gifts. They have had a great time. They are all super excited for this year’s experiences. We’re all creating wonderful memories. So instead of trying to guess at what is important to them or how they felt about a particular event, I’m going to invite my off-spring to be my guest bloggers and tell all y’all about it from their point of view. I think it will be great!
First up, Matthew and his first experience with monster trucks! (I didn’t change anything. It is all just as he wrote it, phonetic spelling and all.)
Monster Jam
After they introduced the monster trucks, they were: New Earth Authority, Grave Digger, Zombie, Scooby Doo, Monster Energy, Blue Thunder, Max D, El Toro Loco. Grave Digger is my favorite of all of them. The trucks came out from right under us. It was so cool!!!!!!!! First, there were monster truck races. Then, there were speedster races. After that, there were four welers races. Then it was halftime. After halftime, there was a donut compatision. Then, there was a weely compatision. Then it was free stile time. The best time of the whole thing. There was a car that was painted orange and it just got crushed. Monster Energy won with the most points. We tried to get in line for autographs but it was to long. I got a flag for a suvaneer. It was Grave Diggers flag. It was in the Delta Center (Vivnt Smart Home Arena).
We got back on the train and went home. The thing I will always know, is that there really loud. (Bring ear plugs!)

Fashion Frenzy
My sister, Esther, picked out some rockin’ tights for Malia. They are striped with pandas on the knees. So, so cute. This morning Malia decided she was ready to wear them. She’s gotten pretty good at getting tights on by herself, only occasionally needing help with the baggy ankles or low hanging crotch. She got her tights on just fine this morning, but then she cried because she couldn’t get the pandas straight. I had to stifle a laugh because she was honestly upset. Once we had everything straightened to her satisfaction, she was pleased as punch.
Every girl in the world has had a bad moment at one time or another due to a wardrobe crisis. Although crooked panda tights are not much of a crisis, Malia is only four and I fully expect more fashion emergencies in the future.

I Am the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
42, people. 42.
If you are confused, it means you aren't quite nerdy enough to have read "The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy." It's okay. I won't hold it against you. ;-)

Puppy Love
Kev's mom gave Malia a stuffed puppy for Christmas. It is a super soft one with a cute little face. Malia has named the puppy Jolly (first name) Rolly (last name). She was very clear about the names being first and last names rather than all one name. She is also very clear on the fact that Jolly is a girl. If we slip up and call Jolly "him,"'Malia will firmly remind us that she is a girl.
Jolly and Malia have been inseparable since Christmas. Malia is Jolly's mom, Matthew is Jolly's dad, Nathan is Jolly's grandpa, and I'm Jolly's grandma. Don't ask me how all that works because I have no idea. But Malia is not bothered by the inexplicable family relationships and is a good mother to Jolly. This evening I peeked into Malia's room and found Jolly sleeping on her very own pillow, neatly tucked under two blankets I made for Baby.
I have a feeling that Jolly will be going to preschool on Friday for show and tell.

Longing For Summer
Malia has started putting on her swim suit and “swimming” on the floor in the family room. As much as she loves the snow, I think she is ready for some warm weather.
