Growing Like A Little Weed

Malia had another appointment with the doctor this morning.  Our main purpose was to hook her up to the blood oxygen monitor and see how she is doing.  She does fine when she is awake and when she is feeding, but when she falls asleep and gets all relaxy her blood oxygen drops into the low 80's.  So she is not ready to be off the oxygen yet, but a week and a half ago she was dropping into the 70's when she ate and slept so I still feel like we are making progress.

On the bright side, Malia now weighs 6 pounds 11 ounces and is 20 inches long.  Her doctor was mightily impressed with her weight gain and we both feel like getting her to grow is no longer a concern.  She doesn't have any baby dimples yet, but her skin is no longer hanging off of her legs in folds.  And her cheeks are chubbing up quite nicely.  Considering she is only at 37 weeks gestational age, if she had actually waited to be born when she was supposed to be she very well may have made it to eight pounds.

(We had to move her to the bigger basket. Thanks to Wendy for inspiring me with the whole basket idea.  It is the cheapest bassinet ever!)
