Our 4th of July weekend has been very laid back. We didn’t go to see big fireworks this year. We didn’t set off any fireworks at home, not even sparklers. We didn’t go to any BBQ’s or picnics, have any outdoor adventures (the heat is hard on me, so this is actually totally normal), or even create any red, white and blue crafts. Matthew has been to the temple multiple times (several of them as a temple worker) and Kevin took Malia to a coin shop, but other than some patriotic offerings to the fun food gods, it has been a slow holiday here at home.
On the other hand, Daniel and Nathan have had a much more exciting holiday. Daniel is in Boise with Tawni’s family and today they floated down the Boise River, basking in the sun and enjoying the wildlife. Nathan is also in Idaho, staying with a friend for a weekend full of burgers, fireworks, kayaking and learning how to become a farmer.
Once Matthew leaves later this month, I suspect Malia is going to get very bored. Or Kevin and I are going to take her places we couldn’t afford to go when all the boys were younger. Or maybe a combination of the two…I guess we’ll see! 😂
