Although this is Daniel’s second year of college, this is actually his first real year of college. Last year he sat in his dorm and did classes via Zoom every day. There were no social gatherings and concerts were only small groups performing and streamed to a virtual audience. This year he gets to go to class in person, meet people, and actually socialize. He gets to play in large ensembles and have an actual audience at their performances. He is finding joy in experiencing college as it is really supposed to be. Case in point, he and some friends went to an escape room today. And getting out of the imaginary locked room was proof that the virtually locked room of COVID is becoming a thing of the past.
