We
have a zoo membership this year and as such they send us magazines and things
in the mail on occasion. At the end of last year we got a calendar and Malia
found it this evening. Monkeys and elephants are her favorite animals so she
was pretty excited when she found a picture of the baby elephant and the mommy
elephant. She came to show the picture to me and then informed me, “I ate grass
when I was an elephant. And had a big, big, long nose when I was an elephant.”
She was totally serious. And it made me giggle. :-)
I
realize that my blog is really Malia-centric right now. It’s not that my other
kids aren’t awesome, because they totally are, but Malia is just at that age
when she is really funny. Matthew also had a funny phase. When he was a toddler
my blog was a riot and only 2% of that was because I’m amazing witty and
completely charming. The other 98% was just because Matthew was freakin’
hilarious. I kid you not. If you don’t remember, take a gander at the
2009-2010-ish era. Sometimes I go back when I need a serious laugh. It works
like a charm.
